Somerville Bowling Club

Requirement

Somerville Bowling Club, a cornerstone of the local sporting community, identified the need to replace their ageing, unsuitable seating to improve comfort and accessibility for members and spectators.

In December 2024, the club reached out to Brandi at SeatsPlus for an initial quotation as part of their broader fundraising efforts, which were being driven by a passionate group of volunteers and community supporters.

Solution

Thanks to the commitment of the club and the generosity of local businesses, Somerville Bowling Club has progressively upgraded its facilities, purchasing 11 benches, with plans to add more as fundraising continues.

SeatsPlus worked closely with the club to design a seating solution that aligned with both their functional and accessibility needs. The chosen product was a custom height, 3 metre bolt down bench with back rest.

Made at 500mmH overall, higher than our standard 400mmH configuration, this design provides easier sitting and standing for members and visitors, ensuring comfort throughout long days on the green.

Result

The upgrades have become a major milestone for the club, celebrated alongside the Minister for Community Sport, Ros Spence MP, who acknowledged the exceptional contributions of the volunteers and committee members who brought the project to life.
