Upwey South Primary School
Requirement
Upwey South Primary School sought a seating solution for their outdoor performance stage to enhance comfort and accessibility for parents and visitors during concerts and school presentations. Previously, attendees were left standing for long periods or sitting uncomfortably on the ground. The school aimed to create a vibrant and engaging atmosphere that complemented the space while ensuring a practical and durable seating arrangement. To achieve this, they partnered with SeatsPlus to transform their outdoor concert area.
Solution
The SeatsPlus team collaborated closely with Upwey South Primary School to fully understand their needs and the restrictions of the area. The performance stage was surrounded by school buildings, requiring a thoughtful seating layout that maintained open space for students to sit on the ground when necessary.
To maximise seating capacity while preserving the stage’s accessibility, the team recommended a combination of:
- 4 x Three Tier Grandstands with Backrests – providing ample seating for parents and visitors with a structured, elevated view of performances.
- 4 x Inground Benches with Backrests – strategically positioned along the perimeter to create additional seating while maintaining an open, flexible space for students.
Result
To enhance the school’s vision of a fun and lively atmosphere, the seating was powder-coated in a selection of bold and energetic colours. The grandstands featured a dynamic mix of Yellow Gold, Orange X15, Dark Violet, and Signal Red, while the inground benches were finished in Yellow Gold, Blaze Blue, Mistletoe, and Orange X15.
The transformation was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from students, staff, and parents alike. The upgraded seating not only improved comfort and accessibility but also elevated the outdoor performance area into a vibrant, inviting space that enhances school events for years to come.
